Ultracross

The main purpose of Ultracross is to get people together to do something rather heroic, so we had always envisioned sending out invites to all we knew who had a ‘cross or an MTB bike and releasing the details on the internet. The other motivation was that we wanted to show off where we lived.

We are a community of friends and multi-skilled individuals and as it happens amongst us a rather gregarious designer type who was more than happy to design us a poster – you see now we’re beginning to brand ourselves? Lois set to and with a couple of iterations we had a poster (see below).

It should be noted that though we designed a route and although we had a poster, a route card and had placed ink stamps out on route like an organiser would for a Randonneur, we had no intention to charge entry, or have numbers pinned on the front of your bike, or timing chips, or way markers etc, etc… any rider who turned up turned up of their own volition. We made it very clear that the ride was completely unsupported.
