#22GetherWeRide Campaign

ReSeed Charity and Together We Ride team up to provide bicycles to those in need in London and Sierra Leone via the #22GetherWeRide campaign.

Many cyclists are terrible hoarders, hanging on to old bikes for no good reason. If you, like me are one of those then there are many charities that will relieve you of your excess. The #22GetherWeRide Campaign is one such campaign. They are looking for donations of unused/second-hand road bicycles in good condition. These will be distributed to young riders in need through their projects in London and Sierra Leone.

#22GetherWeRide is made up of two groups who are keen to help young disadvantaged kids onto bikes. They are, Together We Ride and ReSeed. The bikes can be brought to 22 Bishopsgate’s Active Commuter Park (ACP) – accessible from Undershaft Road, off St Mary Axe by 31 January. The bicycles will then shared with both charities in February for distribution. The organisers have asked that the bikes be in good working order, as they will be sent straight out for use; so no rust-buckets please! 22 Bishopsgate, the tallest building in the City, has kindly agreed to be the centre for collecting these bicycles. They have donated space in their incredible 1,500+ bicycle Active Commuter Park for the project.

ReSeed Charity

ReSeed looks to create sustainable employment and livelihoods so individuals and communities can reach financial stability. Their aim is to see Sierra Leone with a thriving economy and skilled workforce. Where those who were previously trapped in a cycle of poverty are not just surviving, but have a steady and reliable income.

Roxanne Hargreaves (COO, Reseed) said; “We are excited to be a part of the ’22GetherWeRide’ bike donation initiative this Winter! Reseed Bike Shops are closely knitted together with local communities and cycling clubs in Sierra Leone. Bike clubs encourage racing, participation, well-being and female inclusion. The shops provide maintenance services and skills for the clubs and wider community.”

Together We Ride

Together We Ride was founded by Wayne Francis during the first lockdown of 2020. Like many others, he was looking for a way to improve his health and well-being, while also escaping the stresses of the pandemic. Wayne became inspired by a vision to improve access for diverse communities to share and enjoy the same benefits. From that idea Together We Ride CIC was born.

Wayne Francis (Founder, Together We Ride) said; “Together We Ride is delighted to join forces with Reseed. We are united in our mission to positively impact the lives of individuals. Together, we embark on a journey of shared progress. We are guided by our unwavering motto: Together We Ride, Together We Rise.”
