Tour de France features at Hammersmith Cyclists Film Show 2014
The Hammersmith Cyclists Film Show 2014 on Sunday January 26th presents ‘Three Views of the Tour De France’.
The annual festival of cycling films held at Riverside Studios, Crisp Road, Hammersmith, features ‘Hello on Wheels’, De Tour: The Movie and ‘Notebook from the Tour de France’.
Vin Denson will give memories of his experiences riding the Tour de France. Vin, the original “super-domestique” for Rik van Looy and Jacques Anquetil, was the first British rider to win a national professional stage race in Europe and a stage in the Giro d’Italia. He started six and finished three editions of the Tour in the 1960s.
Films
“De Tour: The Movie”(Extracts) (2007) Dan Jones takes a crew from Australia to follow the Australian riders as they chase the yellow jersey.
“Notebook from the Tour de France 2009”. Ray Pascoe’s insider’s view (2009). Another edition of Ray’s fan’s view behind the scenes at the Tour de France using just one small mini DV camcorder.
“Hell on Wheels” (2005) German director Pepe Danquart, uses several crews which enables him to film the Tour from several angles, including helicopters and Tour vehicles to capture the theatre of this great race.
