Nestled between France and Spain, the Basque country has a long tradition of cycling, with both great riders and races. Bike Basque organise both holidays and training camps in the region.
Miguel Indurain, Iban Mayo and Samuel Sanchez come from the Basque-country. Euskatel-Euskadi, a top pro-team with Basque roots, have been in the peloton for more than 20 years, and Brit, David Millar used to live in the French basque-country, in Biarritz.
This region between Spain and France has produced many good riders thanks to a combination of good weather and varied terrain; with flat, hilly and mountainous areas – some very steep. All this plus a real love and appreciation of cycling by the locals is why Bike Basque has chosen this region for organising training-camps…(continued on page 2)>
