In the male Keirin competition, racers worked their way through three rounds, facing different riders in each heat amassing points from their performances.
The last round was a series of finals; riders with the best scores competing in the major final for the podium positions, whilst there were three finals for positions 7th – 24th.
Throughout the night the seeded riders – Craig Maclean, Pete Mitchell, John Paul and Damian Zieleinski – dominated their heats, all attaining three straight wins, but Matt Rotherham also impressed, using his power and tactics he only lost out once coming second to Pete Mitchell in the first round.
Jonathan Mitchell also made it into the final with one win and two second place rides. The fastest race of the night was in round two, heat three won by John Paul with a final 200m time of 10.62 seconds!
