UCI World Cup round 7 features

International CycloCross this weekend sees the return of Nommay, France to the UCI World Cup calendar. In addition there is the Ispasterko Udala Sari Nagusia in Spain.

UCI World Cup 7, Nommay – January 26

After a number of years the Nommay round of the UCI World Cup CycloCross returns. The same venue hosted the 2012/13 French CycloCross Championships won by Francis Mourey for the umpteenth time.

Nommay is the final round of the series and sitting tight at the top of the rankings are Lars Van Der Haar and Katie Compton. Both have been the leading riders of the season with Van Der Haar being a sensation! Niels Albert with two wins is the only other rider than Van Der Haar to stand on the top step this year, but Sven Nys has been in ominous form in the lead up to the World Championships next week and starts as favourite for us, especially if muddy (more than likely).

Katie Compton and Marianne Vos have also been trading wins and like fellow Belgian champion Nys, Sanne Cant has been getting faster with each race and looks good for a possible win. Both Nikki Harris and Helen Wyman have it in them to feature on the podium and either might take a win.
