A bit of history

The 2023 Ford RideLondon Classique will hit the roads from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 May. The RideLondon has featured a professional women’s race since it first started back in 2013. This was a one-day race held on a 1.3 mile circuit in central London and was called the Grand Prix.

In 2016 it was renamed the Classique and was granted UCI Women’s World Tour status. The route featured twenty laps of a central London circuit, which started and finished on The Mall. After a pause for the pandemic, the race returned in 2022 as a three-day stage race. The inaugural event was won by Lorena Wiebes of Team DSM, who took all three stages! Ford took over as the sponsor in January of ’23, announcing a three year deal of the renamed Ford RideLondon Classique.

Meet the riders

One of the teams taking part in the Ford RideLondon Classique is offering fans a chance to meet their riders. Das-Handsling will be holding a breakfast buffet before the start of stage one in Saffron Walden at the Bicicletta Cafe. You can fuel up on tasty snacks, talk bikes and watch the riders battle for the sprint prime. There will also be a chance to win a DAS-Handsling jersey so you can look like a pro!
