Action Medical Research’s Champions of CycleSport Dinner
The children’s charity Action Medical Research has a passion for all things cycling and to celebrate yet another successful season in the saddle, the charity will be hosting the fifth annual Champions of CycleSport Dinner, with cycling legend Chris Boardman MBE as the Ambassador.
Action Medical Research (AMR) is a UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. They aim to make a difference in tackling premature birth and treating sick and vulnerable babies, helping children affected by disability, disabling conditions and infections, targeting rare diseases that together severely affect many forgotten children.
Chris Boardman, says, “I’m very proud to be an Ambassador for the Champions of CycleSport Dinner. It’s a fantastic event and it’s a fantastic charity. I know firsthand, my son George was born prematurely and benefited from the work which charities like Action do. It’s really easy to help, just get on your bike and ride for a reason.”
Guests will be dining with some of the world’s greatest cyclists, including Olympic Gold Medallists and other champion cyclists, plus the likes of Sir Dave Brailsford and Martyn Ashton, at this unique event, which raises funds for sick and vulnerable children and babies.
Martyn Ashton, a former World Bike Trial champion, will also be attending as a special guest. Martyn, said: “I’m so excited to be supporting The Champions of CycleSport dinner. I’ve been lucky enough to attend a couple of times over the years, and I have always been blown away by the passion and drive to raise money for Action Medical Research. It’s always been an exciting, inspiring and at times, really moving evening; one of the industry’s most important charities, providing an evening for the crème of cycling.”
The date of the 2014 Champions of CycleSport Dinner is 27th November, to be held at a new venue, the Battersea Evolution. The event will be supported by Media Partner Rouleur for the third year running and the partnership will mean some fabulous offers and prizes will be available for guests.
