Sigma Sport renew support for Team Mule Bar Girl – Sigma Sport women’s race team
Following on from their decision to suspend their involvement in their UCI men’s team, Sigma Sport has announced it’s continued support of Team Mule Bar Girl – Sigma Sport for the 2014 season.
Sigma Sport and Mule Bar aim is to to build through the 2014 season with a goal of getting to the start line at the 2014 Women’s Tour of Britain.
Sigma Sport founder Ian Whittingham said “We are delighted to continue our support of a local women’s team, the great thing about this group of girls is the amount they put back into the sport, for us seeing what they do to get more women riding and racing is just as important as the results they delivered at the 2013 Tour Series”
For 2014 Sigma Sport has partnered with Cannondale to provide all the members of the team with Supersix Evo Sram Red bikes. Sigma Sport will also provide financial support to team in order to support their ever-expanding race calendar. Clive Gosling, Marketing Manager at Cannondale said “We are excited to be the official bike supplier to the Mule Bar Girl-Sigma Sport road team with our Evo Sram RED bikes. The girls have an infectious blend of fun and unity spirit as well as the potential to perform at the highest level which supported by Sigma Sport’s professional set up should get some podium places in 2014”.
Echoing Ian Whittingham’s statement of inspiring others to ride, Wiesia Kuczaj of Mule Bar Girl – Sigma Sport said, ““We are looking forward to joining forces again with Sigma Sport for 2014, and hopping on our Supersix’s for the new season. Having this support has been invaluable in allowing us to further grow as a team this year in our grass roots work right through to our results at the Tour Series. We’re excited to continue this relationship and achieve new goals together in both growing women’s cycling in the UK and strengthening as a team.”
