Women’s cycling team Matrix Fitness are to ride Velocite again for 2014
Matrix Fitness and Velocite Bikes have announced that sponsorship will continue in 2014, the third year, with frame support from the Taiwanese manufacturer.
Since first teaming up for the 2012 season, Matrix Fitness and Velocite Bikes have enjoyed Johnson Health Tech GP victories, National Series events wins and overall series wins, both domestically and internationally. For 2014, the team will continue to ride Velocite Geos frames, with Velocite hinting at a few subtle changes set to be made to the already successful Geos platform.
Mark Almond from Velocite’s UK importers, VIP Bikes Ltd explains, “We are so happy to announce the details of our ongoing partnership with the Matrix Fitness team. Since our involvement with the team started in 2012 we have seen women’s cycling grow tremendously in the UK and Velocite are proud to be a part of this with Matrix Fitness. The 2014 Velocite Geos will feature some very subtle design changes that will debut on the Matrix Fitness team bikes and we will release further information about these as 2014 approaches”.
Mark continues, “But for now, we’re just happy to be working with one of the most professionally run teams on the circuit and with a great bunch of riders that I am confident will have a tremendous 2014. It’s going to be a fantastic year for women’s cycling and everyone at Velocite is proud to be involved”.
Stef Wyman says that the ongoing frame sponsorship from Velocite is welcome news after two very successful years together. “We’re delighted to continue our relationship with Velocite” he says. “2014 will see the team and sport head into new territory with the Womens Tour being introduced. An ever increasing number of races are making the sport more exciting and competitive than ever before. We are therefore pleased to be entering it with such a strong team of sponsors and partners”.
It seems that Stef is not the only member of the team happy with the Velocite news, as he explains, “I know the current squad members are also happy to be racing Velocite Geos frames again in 2014 as their response to the news has been universally one of delight when told. They really are great bikes”.
