DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK
Two of the UK’s strongest women’s teams have merged for 2024 to produce DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK
In 2023 the DAS-Handsling and Hutchinson-Brother teams were each fighting for victory. However, 2024 will see a very different scenario being played out on the road. The two women’s teams have joined forces over the winter to produce DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK. The new team is one of fifty-four UCI Women’s Continental Team for 2024.
A press-release published in December 2023, detailed the reasons for the merger. The main thrust is that by combining the two teams, it would enable them to tackle a more ambitious race calendar. Read the full release below:
DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK team roster
Staying with Handsling
These are some of the current riders, more to follow! While this is a big change for the team, with new riders and sponsors, some things are staying the same. Last year DAS-Handsling were sponsored by UK bike brand Handsling. Moving on to 2024 and the new team is keeping with Handsling and their A1R0evo bikes. We took a look at the team’s bikes on our sister-site CycleTechReview last year, read the review here. It’s good to see a British brand being represented in the international race scene.
Other equipment suppliers include: Abus, Schwalbe, Deda, Spatz, Fenwicks, Alé and OTE amongst others.
DAS-Hutchinson-Brother UK started 2024 with some of the team attending a training camp in Spain followed by the Classica De Almeria. This UCI 1.1 race saw Yeoman place 19th, while Ruth Shier and O’Brien finished in the top thirty. O’Brien then took advantage of her early season form to win the Seamus Kennedy Memorial Race. Meanwhile Frankie Hall took silver in the Individual Pursuit and bronze in the points race at the BC National Track Championships.
Keep an eye out for the team over the coming season, below is a list of their races up until April.
