Most days began with the group riding together to warm up but with the offer of extension routes for the stronger riders. Long climbs started or finished with a place to grab a drink, some food or a coffee so the quickest had somewhere to wait for the more sedate.
 

 
Having descended Sa Calobra, the amazing Sa Calobra, one particular rider was so daunted by the prospect of having to ride back up the 10K of average 7% gradient, he abandoned all idea of a rest at the bottom (apart from the briefest of photo opportunities) and simply turned straight round to begin his steady (but sure) climb back up to the top. His face on completion of the challenge was probably the highlight of the trip.
 

 
And I think that is why we are keen to spread the word about Viva Velo. Yes, we can cater for the racers among you and we can provide references from the strongest riders as evidence but we can also offer something to the first time Etaper or Ride London charity rider. Cycling is a sport for all types and at Viva Velo we would like to think our attention to detail and our humble origins make us uniquely capable of devising tours and training camps for every single one of you!
