Cycling the Costa Daurada

The main towns along this stretch of cost are the Roman walled city of Tarragona, Salou, famous for its soft sandy beaches, nights clubs such as Pacha and the PortAventura theme park , and the gentrified port of Cambrils home to both traditional fishing boats and super-yachts.

Staying & Eating

I stayed at the Cambrils Park Resort. This was ranked #1 on trip advisor and it’s easy to see why. The self-catering apartment was part of a modern 20 million Euro extension to the park, known as The Mediterranean after its nautically themed pool/lake complex.

The white-washed 1 and 2 story bungalows were spotlessly clean, with polished concrete flooring throughout (including the walk-in shower), stainless steel open-plan kitchen, and cream leather sofa’s (that can be opened out to sofa beds). There a resort has a supermarket, restaurants, shops and daily stage.
