The Annual Champions of CycleSport Dinner takes place this month

 

Host of the Cycle Show, Matt Barbet, is to welcome guests and cycling greats at the Champions of CycleSport Dinner

 

Keen cyclist, TV presenter (Channel 5 news) and Cycle Show host, Matt Barbet has just announced that he will be officially welcoming everyone to the Champions of CycleSport Dinner, on 27 November 2014 in aid of children’s charity Action Medical Research. Matt, who attended the event last year and is eagerly looking forward to this year’s dinner said, “It’s a huge honour to be invited to do this.”

Matt will be joining cycling legend Chris Boardman MBE, as the event ambassador and a host of other cycling greats who include Rob Hayles, Dani King MBE, Hannah Walker and Jon Mould at this year’s Champions of CycleSport Dinner sponsored by Broadstone and BDO LLP, which is now in its fifth year and is taking place at a new venue, the Battersea Evolution.

 
Other attendees already confirmed for the ‘hot ticket’ event include Sir Dave Brailsford CBE, David Millar, Martyn Ashton, Yanto Barker, Jody Cundy MBE, Ian Wilkinson, Dean Downing, Roger Hammond, Tom Stewart, Matti Hemmings and Stephen Roche.

 
BBC TV Cycling Commentator and Football Commentator for BBC Match of the Day, Simon Brotherton, is returning as ‘live auctioneer’ and keen cyclist and Sky news presenter Dermot Murnaghan will once again be conducting live and exclusive interviews with the Champions, sponsored by Quilter Cheviot.
 
Additional ‘attractions’ on the night include the live auction featuring exclusive items such as Team Sky Kids Bike designed by FROG and signed by Team Sky, a Ride with Team Sky at their Majorca training camp in January 2015, a Doma Pinarello Team Sky bike signed by Sir Dave Brailsford CBE, a Ride out for three people with David Millar in Gerona (including flights – date by arrangement), two Track Days for 10 people at the London Olympic Velodrome with Jody Cundy and a signed Tour of California Jersey signed by Bradley Wiggins.
 
Artist Paul Oz will this year be offering a portrait of Sir Dave Brailsford CBE and for something a little different – Smeg UK will be donating a fridge from the Paddington Movie, but exclusively decorated with five Richard Mitchelson designs.
 
All tables are sold as tables of 10, from the coveted ‘Gold’ table with your very own Cycling Legend in situ, to the sleek ‘Silver’ table or the brilliant Bronze, all including five bottles of wine and a good view of the stage and screens.
