The La Fausto Coppi Selle San Marco Granfondo is one of the hardest Granfondo races in Europe; in fact it may be the hardest. With a total of 4500m of climbing on four major climbs (ranging from 4% up to 15%) La Fausto Coppi Selle San Marco granfondo is for the bravest of riders and proudly wearing the event jersey on completion means you are among the finest riders as simply finishing is seen as an achievement, regardless of the position obtained in the official standings. Due to the difficulties of the route, La Fausto Coppi Selle San Marco is considered by all lovers of amateur cycling as one of the “classics”, one not to be missed and beyond all comparison.

Many professional riders (such as Francesco Moser – winner in 1987 – or Lampre’s champion Adriano Malori) have attended the race over the years, even though the participation of pro athletes is now allowed only if they keep out of the placings…
