SSAFA Ride of Britain 2013

May 2013

If you were inspired by our story on the Point2Point, then you can also challenge yourself and support British armed forces and their families by taking part in the Ride of Britain 2013 from 25th – 29th September 2013.

The Ride of Britain will follow the route of the British stage of the Tour de France in 2014, and covering 500 miles in just 5 Days, travelling from Edinburgh to London, its definitely a challenge; 100 miles a day is not easy for anyone.

Last year Highlander, Craig Paterson, took on this unique adventure to thank SSAFA for helping him and his family after he was injured in Afghanistan in July 2011. He said, ‘I’m so glad I’ve completed it; it’s such a great feeling and I’ve raised money to help SSAFA do what they do best!’

SSAFA is committed to providing lifelong support for our Forces and their families, by providing practical support and assistance to servicemen and women, veterans, and their families every single day of the year.

Riders can expect full support from experienced ride leaders, medical staff and mechanics to ensure that they have the best experience possible. There’s also excellent feed stations en route all the way to your hotel and a support crew who transport your luggage ahead of you.

SSAFA rely on the funds raised from events like Ride of Britain to continue the work they provide on behalf of 50,000 people every year.
