The Shropshire Devil 2 develops this proven formula and adds in a healthy dose of Welsh mountain roads and cross border landscapes for the September running of this rapidly growing event.

Taking place on 7th September, the event starts at the Shrewsbury Sports Village before heading out on a choice of 55, 77 and 115-mile routes.

All routes will head west towards Wales taking in a range of quiet, fully way marked country roads ideal for cycling. The 55-mile route offers 662 metres of climbing with all ascents being steady and manageable. The 77-mile option has 1215 metres and the 115-mile route a whopping 2660 metres of climbing as they take in Winllan Hill (both routes) as well as Cwn Sian Llwyd and the legendary Bwich-y-Groes (115 mile option only).

There will be well-stocked food stations on route supplying a range of savoury treats courtesy of the award winning Drovers Rest restaurant and an assortment of energy products to choose from.

The event is professionally timed with broom wagon and full medical support should anyone be unfortunate enough to need it on the day.

Free parking is available at the event HQ and all finishers will receive a finisher’s certificate.

Registration costs £25 and it is strongly advised to register in advance as the ride is becoming very popular so there is no guarantee of places being available on the day.
