Introducing the Empire Cycles Enduro Series

Welsh based Red Kite Events are introducing a brand new Enduro Series in conjunction with Bolton’s Empire Cycles on the weekends of 26-27th April, 26-27th July and 25-26th October. The three round series promises to deliver Mid-Wales, gravity-style enduro racing at its very best.

Based in Britain’s smallest town, Llanwrtyd Wells, riders can expect long and challenging timed descents with plenty of rock gardens, steep drops, tight singletrack and fun, man-made sections thrown in with all courses designed to be ridden by mid to long travel trail bikes, such as the all new Empire MX6-EVO which was launched at the London Bike Show.

Saturday morning will be practice time on the first two sections (just on the outskirts of Llanwrtyd Wells) whilst Saturday afternoon will see the same stages used for the first timed sections. Sunday will be based on a 50km route including another four timed downhill sections. As a gravity-style enduro event, the linking stages will need to be pedalled of course but Red Kite have made them as easy as possible ensuring riders have plenty of time to get to the next stage. The odd downhill will be thrown in between the stages as well to add some fun.

With prizes for category winners and a handful of spot prizes up for grabs, riders will be sure to walk away from Britain’s smallest town with a heap of memories and maybe a medal or two. There is a free pasta meal on the Saturday night in the village hall plus a free beer, and with Muc Off on site to clean and lube your bike, you can rest assured that both rider and steed will be well looked after all weekend.

Alongside Empire Cycles, other event sponsors include:
Muc Off
Trail 42
Continental
The Drover’s Rest
High 5
Sealskinz
JDRF

Entry is open now and priced at £55 with only 350 places available for each 2-day event. Camping is available with good showers and toilet facilities at only £5 per tent per night if pre-booked through the Red Kite website.
